Harry Potter AU info

House: Ravenclaw. Prefect and eventually Head Boy. Teaches Dragonology in his 6th/7th years.
Wand: Oak with Dragon Heartstring.
Best Class: Care of Magical Creatures.
Never really excelled in much except his knack for tinkering with and creating things. He was considering becoming an inventor after graduating Hogwarts, until he found a Dragon egg just before his third year. Not wanting to leave it to go cold and die, he took it and hatched it. To his great surprise, the dragon that hatched was a Night Fury, a very rare and dangerous, and untamable dragon. Still, he cared for it and raised it, and soon found he had a talent for dealing with the creature. It didn't hurt that it was intelligent and a fast learner. His gift with the reptile soon extended to other creatures as he grew close to and began to understand his Dragon, and he was soon at the top of his Care of Magical Creatures class, much to the dismay of the former top student and his crush, Astrid.
Best friends with Jack Frost, Merida Dunbroch, and Rapunzel Corona. And all three of them know of Toothless, and help him keep the dragon a secret.
A dork pretty much every hour of the day. He's clumsy and sarcastic, and wants more than anything to be accepted. But he want's to be accepted for who he is. He wants to earn it. Only problem is, his biggest achievement is raising a very illegal dragon.
He's completely loyal to his friends and family, but won't hesitate to stand up to them if he feels they're doing something wrong.
Loses his left leg from just below the knee at the end of his fifth year, helping Jack and his friends rescue Elsa Arendelle from their Defense against the Dark Arts teacher, Pitch, and his Master, Maleficent, who had chosen the young witch as her new Vessel. Jack, Hiccup, Merida and Rapunzel faced Pitch, while Anna ran ahead to save her sister.
After everyone found out about Toothless, he had to face a hearing to determine whether he would be punished for raising a dragon, or if they should let him continue studying and raising Dragons as an official Dragonoligist, since he had done what no Dragonologist had managed before. Not only train a Dragon, but a Night Fury. And, forge a bond with the creature so strong, that after simply being separated from him, Toothless refused to eat or drink until they were reunited.
Eventually, the Ministry for Magic decided to let him continue his study as an official "Dragonologist in Training", under a few conditions. One of the most important being that after graduating, he become a registered Dragonologist, study more Dragons and how to raise and train them, and teach others how to do the same.
He was more than happy to agree.
He spent the summer before 6th year creating a prosthetic tail fin for Toothless, and researching Dragons for his Dragonolgy class that he would be teaching that year.
Along with helping his students train hatchling Terrible Terrors for the school, he also trains one for himself, that he names Sharpshot.
